La Steff is a sonic process — part synth, part drums, part instinct. Rooted in minimalism, shaped by spontaneity. Clicks & Cuts, Dark Ambient, Drone, E-Trash, Dada and with sustained research interest in aleatoric traditions and acousmatic music.
I work at the intersection of sound art, so-called „experimental music“, and narrative audio. While I describe my practice as process-driven, I treat sound as constantly evolving rather than a straight product — rough, reduced. Moving between dark ambient, drone, and fragmented textures. I manifest sonic statements.
My approach combines intuition, reduction, and interdisciplinary thinking across art and media.
Alongside my solo work as La Steff, I collaborate. Schuld & Scham is a project with Polypixa – artist, composer, photographer, painter. Our pieces emerge from sound fragments the both of us develop intuitively in spontaneous interplay, while voice shifts between clarity and fracture, dissolving words and sentences along the way. Then we assemble and mélange these sceneries into disruptive soundscapes between Berlin and Cologne – aleatoric electronics: fluid patterns, raw textures, and the space between noise and silence. Our first piece „chuchuu“ had its radio premiere in April 2026 on byte.fm and was featured on ROVR.live end of June 2026.
